This year I am going to interview five different people with a visible (or hidden) difference whilst I 'get to know' them a bit better. The purpose of this series is for the readers to have a better insight into their lives/how they would like to be treated whilst hopefully, being just as informative and helpful.😁☀
Meet Rory 🦅
I first came across Rory through Changing Faces due to him being an ambassador (if you want to know more about my post on Changing Faces I've underlined it in the title). I've seen him do various interviews on radio, TV and through social media raising awareness for people with a visible difference and I admire him so much for the work he has done and continues to do that I just HAD to include him in this series. 😊.

I’m a very honest person.

It doesn’t define who I am.
Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?
Continuing to spread the message that you should never judge a book by its cover and doing a lot more public speaking.
How do you handle being out in public?
I’m fine with being out in public now but for many years when I was younger I hated going out in public - it would make me very nervous and I would avoid it as much as possible, but now that I have accepted who I am and what I look like I have no issues with going out in public.
What do you personally do to build up your confidence on a rough day/normally?
If I’m ever feeling down about anything I focus even more on the people and activities that make me happy and that make me laugh and that usually gets me into a better mood. As far as confidence goes if I’m ever feeling a bit down I just think about how far I’ve come from when I was younger and that motivates me to stand tall with my head held high.
Can you share a quote or a message to leave the readers with?
Nobody gets to choose what they’re going to look like when they’re born and nobody should be subjected to any sort of prejudice or abuse based on something that’s outwith their control. Never judge a book by its cover.
