An Instagram live stream series where I bring together a couple of my creative friends and mentors to share shed some light on how to handle a virus lockdown in a healthy and positive way.
In this week's live, my friend that I met through the 'Doit4real' performing arts summer camp that I attended when I was 11 years old (and I) discussed some new and exciting drama games for the friends and family to use during isolation whilst also, giving our own advice on what performing/drama means to us, and why it could become a potential hobby for a lot of people to try out during the quarantine. The performing arts has saved my life in more ways than one, and I strongly believe that only if your open/intrigued to it 😁, then it can be a great and beneficial hobby to discover whilst your at home 💓. Watch this Instagram live that I did with Italia and discover all of the benefits and fun things to do whilst you're at home! Thank you x
Here are some drama games that both Italia and I picked that would be great for you, your friends and your family to try virtually or with the people you live with 😁. Try them out these coming weeks so you have something fun to look forward too!💓💓
Isolation Drama Games👏🏾
Hot seat (charades):
Nominate one person to pick a character, celebrity or animal and then once they have picked, the group must guess who/what they are. Sound familiar? Well, with a drama twist that person must act out that person or animal they have chosen and only answer with yes or no questions until the group guesses who they are. It is a very fun twist of charades and it’s even funnier to see your loved one try to act out that thing without breaking character.
Buzzing Bees:
This game requires a lot of space and movement of your whole entire body, but it is so much fun! Firstly, you need a small group of people and then decide on a person to be the host in this game to start off with. After this, the host says, “buzz bees buzz” and then like bees everyone starts buzzing. The host then calls out a random letter which results in everyone having ten seconds to create a object or person that matches up with that letter. The host decides on which person to take out of the game and then the game carries on. It is a fun and active game to play in real life or over your phone/computer and it is amazing to see what people come up with x
One-word story:
This game is a fun, creative and hilarious drama game that will have you on the floor laughing. The rules of the game are simple - the first person will start off the story by saying, “Once upon a time” or “It all started” so that the next person can add a sentence to that sentence and so on and so on. It depends on the company of your group, but this game can get as ridiculous, rude or straight forward as you want it to be and it is so much fun to see where the story ends up.
These are just a few out of a million drama games that I have done over the years and especially in a time where we are sat at home bored out of our minds, it would be great to bring some people together to try out these games and search for more drama games too! If you end up doing these during or after the lockdown, please share your stories with me! I would love to see how you found it! <3
Thank you for watching/reading and I will see you soon <3 stay safe xx
